What Caused The Shoe Maker, The Little Girl, And The Prisoner To Survive The Eruption Of Mount Pelee

Well here you have it, the reason why the shoe maker and the prisoner survived the eruption of Mount Pelee in 1902 is quite simple. The prisoner, Auguste Ciparis survived because the volcano erupted while he was in the basement of the jail. The thick, concrete brick walls did not let any of the heat, ash, or lava enter the jail where Aguste was staying. Therefore he remained alive with no damage. The reason why the shoe maker and the little girl survived is still a mystery. Although they both suffered from very sever third degree burns, his flesh had not been eaten away like the other 30,000 citizens of the city St. Pierre. Why do you think the shoe maker survived?
